Leveraging an imaging arsenal
to understand immunity

Our Research

Our Research

The goal of the Maltez lab is to interrogate fundamental immunological questions in pathogenesis, tumorigenesis, and immune dysfunction. Our team utilizes cutting-edge multiplex microscopy and spatial transcriptomics techniques to explore the distinctive cellular communities shaping immune responsiveness. We seek out and thrive in collaborative team science. We are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of immunological research and translating our findings into potential clinical applications.

Our methodologies

Single cell protein profiling:

high resolution multiplex microscopy

This immunofluorescence technique enables us to deeply profile a tissue environment via an iterative staining and bleaching cycle. We can gain insight into the cellular composition, phenotypic state, and proximal neighbors in the tumor microenvironment.
